Click on the e-mail program you use to set up your e-mail with the Highway mail server:

Outlook Express and Outlook 2000
Microsoft Outlook
Netscape Messenger
Eudora
Mozilla Thunderbird


Outlook Express and Outlook 2000

To add a new email account, click on Add then Mail and enter settings as listed below.
To edit your current email account, follow the steps below:

1. Open up Outlook Express or Outlook 2000. If prompted to connect, click on Work Offline. If an Error box appears, click Hide.
2. Go to the Tools menu, then click on Accounts and then on the Mail tab.
3. Double-click on the mail account for Hwy.
4. In Mail Account, type pop3.hwy.com.au
5. In User Information:-
     Name: enter your name as you'd like it to appear on the emails you send out, eg. John Smith, The Smiths etc.
     Organization: (optional) you can enter your business name here or leave it blank.
     E-mail Address: type yourusername@hwy.com.au
     Reply Address: leave this blank.

6. Click on the Servers tab at the top.
     Incoming Mail (POP3): type pop3.hwy.com.au

       Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
type: smtp.hwy.com.au
    Account Name: this should be your username only; eg. jsmith without the @hwy.com.au
    Do not tick the boxes for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" and "My server requires authentication."

7. Click OK or Finish to save.

Now send yourself a test message to make sure that you can send and receive email successfully. Remember to click on the Send/Receive button on your Toolbar to download any new email.

Microsoft Outlook

1. Open up Microsoft Outlook. If prompted to connect, click on Work Offline.
2. Go to Tools then Email Accounts.
To add a new email account, click on Add a new email account, select POP3 and enter settings as listed below.
To edit your current email account, click on View/Change existing email accounts. Select your Hwy email account and click Change/Edit.
4.  Your Name: enter your name as you'd like it to appear on the emails you send out, eg. John Smith, The Smiths etc.
     E-mail Address: type yourusername@hwy.com.au
     User Name: this should be your username only; eg. jsmith without the @hwy.com.au
     Incoming Mailserver (POP3): pop3.hwy.com.au
     Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp.hwy.com.au

     Do not tick the boxes for "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" and "My server requires authentication."

5. Click OK or Finish to save.

Now send yourself a test message to make sure that you can send and receive email successfully.

Netscape Messenger

1. Open up Netscape Messenger. If prompted to connect, click Work Offline.
2. Click on Edit, then Preferences, then on the plus sign (+) next to Mail & Newsgroups.
3. Click on Identity and enter the following:-
    Your Name: enter your name as you'd like it to appear on the emails you send out, eg. John Smith, The Smiths etc.
    Email Address: type yourusername@hwy.com.au
    Reply-to Address: leave this blank
    Organization: (optional) you can enter your business name here or leave it blank.

4. Now click on Mail Servers and double-click on the mail account in the Incoming Mail Servers box:-
    Server Name: type pop3.hwy.com.au
      Server Type: leave as POP3 Server
    Username: this should be your username only; eg. jsmith without the @hwy.com.au
    

5. Click OK which brings you back to the Incoming Mail Server screen.
6. Further down, there is an Outgoing Mail Server box.
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.hwy.com.au
    Outgoing Mail Server username: this should be your username only; eg. jsmith without the @hwy.com.au
    Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL): select Never.
7. Click OK or Finish to save.

Now send yourself a test message to make sure that you can send and receive email successfully.

Eudora

1. Open up Eudora.
If prompted to connect, click Cancel or Work Offline.
2. Go to the Tools menu, then click on Options.
3. In the Category section, scroll up and click on Getting Started.
4.
Real Name: enter your name as you'd like it to appear on the emails you send out, eg. John Smith, The Smiths etc.
    Return Address: type yourusername@hwy.com.au
    Mail Server (Incoming): type pop3.hwy.com.au
  
Login Name: this should be your username only; eg. jsmith without the @hwy.com.au
  
SMTP Server (Outgoing): type: smtp.hwy.com.au
    Leave the Allow Authentication box ticked.
5. Click OK or Finish to save. Now send yourself a test message to make sure that you can send and receive email successfully.

Mozilla Thunderbird

1. Open up Thunderbird.
If prompted to connect, click Cancel or Work Offline.
2. Go to the Tools menu, then click on Account Settings
3. Click Add Account and the Setup wizard will appear. Select Email Account then click Next.
    Your Name: enter your name as you'd like it to appear on the emails you send out, eg. John Smith, Th
    Email Address: yourusername@hwy.com.au
    Type of server you are using: POP
    Incoming Server: pop3.hwy.com.au
    Incoming/Outgoing User Name: your username with Hwy should already appear in here
    Account Name: leave as is
    Click Next then click Finish to save.
